Nelson Ferreira

CEO

Our CEO, Nelson Ferreira is an exceptional visionary. Ferreira Construction, which has grown to be a premier contractor in New Jersey, New York, Florida, California and the New England Area, developed as a direct result of his first business endeavor over 30 years ago. With a vision for diversity and growth, Nelson has added to the Ferreira Family of Companies over the years. These additions include Vanguard Energy Partners, American Pile and Foundation, and SM Electric.

Nelson is at the core of SM Electric and handles the day to day operations. He is responsible for the financial decisions, business development, market strategy, and growth of the company. Nelson continues to lend his valuable insight and unparalleled leadership in the development of all our companies.

Peter Cheche

President

Peter works closely with his team and oversees the day-to-day operations of the company. The company’s vision, strategy and direction are all driven by his leadership.

Peter is a graduate of Seton Hall University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. He has been an alumni member of IBEW Local Union #102 since 1997.

Coming from a long lineage in the electrical contracting business, Peter brings with him 30 years of diversified electrical experience and leadership. He is dedicated to ensuring that our projects are performed safely and productively with special attention to detail and quality. He believes that strong client and vendor relationships along with excellent labor relations contribute to the success of all our projects.

Mike O’Donovan

Senior Vice President

Mike has over 25 years of experience in construction, estimating and pre-construction services. His professional experience providing pre-construction services to our clients ranging from conceptual budgeting to GMP/contract estimates in all market sectors, makes Mike an invaluable part of our team. As Senior Vice President, Mike’s vast knowledge makes him a highly effective manager and leader at SM Electric.

Mike is a graduate of CIT (Ireland) and holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.

Glenn Eckert

Controller

Glenn is a seasoned financial accounting professional with over 20 years in the construction industry, more specifically 10 years in the union electrical space. Glenn previously was a Sage 300 (Timberline) Consultant with detailed knowledge of improving, implementing systems and procedures. Glenn has a record of managing a cost effective business with his well tested technical skills and sound business judgement.
