safety training

S.M. Electric focuses on NFPA 70E electrical training, both high and low voltage.

The scope of our program includes extensive training in all electrical safety regulations (both low and high voltage). We also prepare employees for work under specific conditions, such as in confined spaces, at dangerous heights or when exposed to hazardous chemicals. We review with personnel how to use specialized equipment and personal protective gear. We drill and drill again, until safe work practices become second nature. A list of safety courses can be found in the Safety Courses section.

A highlight of our instructional program is demonstration training, which displays the characteristics of 15,000 volts of electricity via use of a model. This course has proven so valuable that the US Department of Labor has subcontracted the demonstration for OSHA’s National Training Institute in Chicago.
